MEET THE TEAM
THE BEGINNING
Here's how it started...
My name is Allina Johnson, and you may know me as AJ. I'm a 17-year-old junior from McKinney with a growing passion for photography. It all started last football season during my brothers first game when I realized my phone camera couldn't zoom in as close as I wanted. To solve this problem, I put my phone through a pair of binoculars. Trust me, lining up that iPhone camera with the binoculars is not easy, especially with shaky hands. Immediately, I edited the 3 pictures I got from it and my mom told me, "that's very good." That little experiment sparked something big. Soon after, I became the social media manager for Hope Squad at my school, where I discovered a love for creative freedom. After football season I had a lot of time on my hands, I started making edits for the girls' basketball team, and the coach loved them so much that she handed me her phone and a tripod and told me to keep going. After spending countless hours looking for a camera, I took the chance to grow bigger when a friend offered to let me borrow her Canon Rebel T7. I started photographing the girls' team, then moved on to boys’ basketball, spring football, and other sports. Now I take photos, design graphics, and I’m always excited to keep learning and connect with others! All thanks to the binoculars I got for my mom because she couldn't see on the field.
